Play with Color. Discover your True Colors!
Workshop participants select one or two favorite colors for the workshops project, choose a word and explore a theme with the color and the word as a guide.
The color can be inspired by a piece of clothing, an accessory, a flower or object. The word can express a feeling or an idea, and can be happy, serious, playful – examples: celebrate, vacation, food, birthday, fashion, kids, games, dreams.
The workshop will begin with a review of the materials we will use and sample collages to inspire you.
You will select your color and word and begin to look for images in magazines in the color you chose and in the word (theme) you selected.
I will demonstrate how to cut and place and glue the papers, and will help everyone throughout the workshop with tips on technique, and design layout, ways to overlap papers, embellish and modify edges and make it all work.
I’ll supply papers, crayons, and markers. Bring one or two favorite magazines to search for images for your collage.
You’ll learn or improve your collage technique, and your understanding of color, value and design.
This is a one-day workshop, lasting 4 hours. Everyone will be able to complete their collage.
