the meaning of collage

This is a close-up view of the lower portion of the collage painting. I need precise collage pieces next to and between already existing shapes. I work with tracing paper and artistís transfer paper (transferring the outline onto the painted papers, then tearing each paper along the transferred outline). I repeat this process for each collage piece that must fit precisely.
