Be inspired by Romare Bearden, one of the greatest modern collage
artists. In this workshop you will create your own painted papers for
collage like Bearden did. You’ll work with mixed media, watercolor,
acrylic paint, pen, crayon and pencil, plus incorporate graphic imagery
from magazines, and be able to produce a fantasy landscape or abstraction.
We will analyze Bearden’s landscape works and talk
about composition, color & design.
This is collage in a new and exciting way. We will work with collage
tools and create collage media. Collage allows you to expand your personal
visual vocabulary and take your current work to the next level. Participants
receive a materials list upon registration. All glues and tools, and
many materials are provided.
The workshop will include demonstrations, individual attention and
group discussion. All skill levels are welcome. Coffee is available.
Please bring a bagged lunch or have lunch at the Museum.
Please call 973 596 6607 to register and to request more information.
