Call 914 815 3903 for information and to register Photo Collage is narrative art – a story with images and words that
you create. Your art can be a framed work, dimensional, in multiples,
an artist’s book, or other format. Workshop includes discussion of
copyright issues.
Step one: plan. What is the story about? Who is the story about? Is
it serious or funny? A long story or short? Etc.
The workshop will include a review of sample photo collages and discussion
of design techniques. All sessions include demonstration on how to
work with 2D and 3D elements, and how to get them attached properly,
cleanly and evenly without tears, folds and bubbles (unless you want
them).
All basic collage materials will be provided: papers, glue, collage
tools, paints, brushes, pen, and pencil. Participants should bring
items that relate to their subject: photos, findings, beads, buttons,
lace, letters, postcards, stamps, graphic images, photocopies (digital
printouts), letters, etc.
Classes include discussion, demonstration and critique. Every student
gets individual attention.
